MULTAN: In a significant development for South Punjab’s industrial leadership, Kamran Arshad, a prominent figure from the region, has been elected as the Chairman of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) for the 2024-26 term. This marks a major achievement for South Punjab, a region heavily reliant on the textile industry, which is the backbone of its economy.
The election took place during APTMA’s Annual General Meeting 2024, where Kamran Arshad’s leadership was hailed as a strong representation of the region’s growing influence in the national textile landscape. Accompanying him in the new leadership team are Mohammad Jamil Qasim as Senior Vice Chairman, Sadiq Javed Bhatti as Vice Chairman, and Shehzad Ahmed Sheikh as Vice Chairman for the Value-Added Sector.
Kamran Arshad, a seasoned businessman with deep roots in South Punjab, has vowed to prioritize innovation, competitiveness, and export-driven growth, key elements crucial to uplifting the local textile industry. Outgoing Chairman Asif Inam lauded the industry’s resilience during his tenure and highlighted the critical role South Punjab plays in Pakistan’s textile exports. APTMA Patron-in-Chief Dr. Gohar Ejaz also praised the contributions of the textile sector to Pakistan’s economic stability, further emphasizing the importance of regional leadership in strengthening the industry.
