ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Kamran Michel will inaugurate Chinese-donated buses for schools of Gwadar here on August 18.
Chinese Ambassador in Pakistan will be the chief guest at the ceremony while other prominent figures and dignitaries will participate in the ceremony scheduled to be held at Gwadar Port.
According to an invitation extended by the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Chairman, all the dignitaries would fly from Islamabad to Gwadar via a special flight.
It is to be noted that the GPA has a vision for Gwadar Port to make it a gateway to Pakistan and the region and transform it into a world-class maritime hub.
The development of both Gwadar City and Port will greatly contribute to the socioeconomic development of not only Pakistan but the entire region.
Geographically, Gwadar is located on the shores of Arabian Sea in the western province of Balochistan, about 533-km from Karachi and 120-km from the Iranian border. The Gwadar Port is located at the mouth of the Persian Gulf, just outside the Straits of Hormuz, near the key shipping routes in and out of the Persian Gulf.
