Karachi Appraisement-West PRV cell recovers Rs 10m in April, detects 44 cases of short recovery

KARACHI: The Post Release Verification (PRV) Cell of the Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) of Appraisement-West, while following the directives of the Collector Muhammad Saleem, has recovered around Rs 10 million in April. The cell also detected 44 cases of short revenue recovery in which the importers were involved in mis-declaration of value, non-application of correct valuation rulings, mis-declaration of PCT, misusing of SROs and misusing of classification in clearing the  consignments.

According to details, the PRV cell has recovered an amount of Rs 76,710 from Khawaja Brothers on import of polyethylene, Rs 667,422 from Baig Association on import of Nido Milk and Rs 260,093 from Premier Formica on import of phenol.

The PRV cell with the teamwork has succeeded in generating Rs 25,620 from Younus Sons on import of low density polyeth; Rs 154,434 from Humayun Chemicals on import of ISO propayle alcohol, Rs 3,772,521 from The Searle Pakistan on import of LED lights, Rs 584,578 from King Chemicals Corporation on import of mosquito coils, Rs 37,983 from Asif Textile Trading on import of Metalic Yarn G Col, Rs 1,147,795 from Marvi International on import of LED lights, Rs 293,256 from Metatex (Pvt) Limited on import of LED lights.

The PRV cell has also gathered an amount of Rs 64,352 from KBM Enterprises on import of LED lights, Rs 151,689 from Dastagir and sons on import of sodium lauryl ether, Rs 151,689 from Continental Plastics on import of polypropylene, Rs 563,764 from Paracha Chemicals on import of inedible tallow, Rs 284,888 from Jamal & Brothers on import of photocopy paper, Rs 54,260 from Kolachee International on import of methylene chloride.

The PRV cell has also recovered an amount of Rs 184,224 from Mehar Packages on import of methylene chloride, Rs 931,725 from crescent bahuman on import of dextrose monohydrate, Rs 160,913 from Karim Associates on import of coated art paper, Rs 64,331 from Abdul Aziz Saval Company on import of coated art paper.

The PRV also collected an amount of Rs 72,687 from Naurus Pvt Limited on import of polypropylene, Rs 46,819 from Diamond Paints Industries on import of chemicals, Rs 192,553 from Anjum Corporation on import of polyester yarn, recovered an amount of Rs 399,083 from Hamdam Paper production on import of polyester yarn, Rs 750,119 from Servinco International on import of epoxy resin, Rs 103,287 from Royal International on import of polyester yarn, Rs 156,602 from Good luck Hosiery on import of polyester yarn and recovered an amount of Rs 421,471 from S S Trading Corporation on import of used mix shoes.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PRV cell of MCC Appraisement-West recovered an amount of more than Rs 10 million in the month of April-2015 with a slight increase of Rs 2 million as the PRV cell was collected Rs 8 million approximately in the month of March-2015.
