Karachi ASO seizes 44,000 litre Iranian oil

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate, Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO), has foiled a bid to smuggle 44,000 liters Iranian diesel at Mochko.

Deputy Collector told Customs Todaty that the ASO staff deputed at Mochko intercepted oil containers and recovered  44,000 liters of Iranian diesel.

“So far, the ASO has confiscated around 84,000 liters diesel worth millions of rupees at Mochko check post in just ten days,” the deputy collector added.

Besides, he said, “The ASO has foiled smuggling bids and recovered more than 400 liters of Iranian diesel from Mochko and at superhighway in separate raids.” He further said that the ASO staff have conducted various raids and confiscated Indian origin gutka wroth more than Rs10 million.

We are determined and committed to eradicate the menace of all kinds of smuggling in the South region under the leadership of Chief Collector Enforcement South Muhammad Zahid Khokhar”, the deputy collector said. The investigations are underway from the arrested persons so that their accomplices would be arrested.
