Karachi Customs I&I Directorate divided in 2 departments

KARACHI: The Regional Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Karachi has been divided into two departments, Hyderabad and Karachi Directorates.

Sources told Customs Today that the Karachi directorate will have jurisdiction till Nooriabad whereas the Hyderabad directorate will be able to keep area under its jurisdiction till Sadiqabad.

The two Regional Directorates will perform their duties under the supervision of Director Sameena Tasleem and Director Dr Tahir Qureshi. Director Tahir Qureshi will look after the affairs of the Regional Directorate in Hyderabad, the source added. After the division, two directors and three superintendents will perform their duties in their specific jurisdictions.

It has been also been learnt that the federal government has not yet issued funds for the Regional Directorate of Customs Intelligence and investigation (I&I) and the Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Islamabad is in talk with the government for early release of the funds for the Hyderabad Regional Directorate.
