Karachi Customs to expedite process of auction from next week

KARACHI: The authorities concerned of Model Customs Collectorate-MCC Appraisement -West, while following the directives of Collector Muhammad Saleem, has expedited the process of auction at different terminals, it is learnt here.

Sources informed Customs Today that the Collector-MCC Appraisement -West Muhammad Saleem has issued clear instructions to the authorities concerned of the Collectorate to remove all back-logs related to confiscated goods and hold auctions of those contraband items almost on regular basis at AICT, KICT, BOML and other terminals.

The sources further informed this scribe that the Collector Muhammad Saleem has taken the said step keeping the revenue collection in front as he determined not only to surpass the revenue targets sets by the FBR but also contributed more than the expectation in order to increase the national exchequer.

The sources further disclosed that the authorities concerned of the Collectorate has evolved an auction plan which is to be implemented from Monday (June 22, 2015) in which the Collectorate would hold auction of different commodities including vehicles, electronic goods, machinery, plastic goods and others.
