ARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement seized smuggled diesel worth Rs7 million two major sea operations.
Sources said that a credible intelligence report received by Collector Customs Enforcement Basit Abbasi, along with Additional Collector Dawood Pirzado and Deputy Collector Raza Naqvi, the marine section of the Collectorate conducted these operations from September 17th to 20th, 2024.
The operations took place near Churna Island and the Sapat area, where customs officials intercepted two wooden boats, Al-Muneeri-1 and Al-Habibi. These boats were found to be carrying a substantial quantity of smuggled High Speed Diesel (HSD), totaling 26,720 liters.
In addition to the diesel, the boats themselves, valued at around Rs16 million, were also confiscated. The total value of the seized goods, including the diesel and the boats, amounts to approximately Rs23 million.
The seized goods have been taken into custody for further legal proceedings, marking a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to curb smuggling activities in the region.
