KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Karachi has seized smuggled goods worth Rs10 million in various operations in the city. The seized goods include plastic granules, betel nuts, and vehicles.
Sources told Customs Today that information was passed through Collector Basit Abbasi to Additional Collector Amanullah regarding movement of smuggled goods. Assistant Collector Aman Sadiq constituted under the supervision of Superintendent Azhar Malik to take action. The team recovered 640 PP bags of PMC/Plastic granules weighing 16 metric tons valued at Rs 6.5 million.
The ASO team also intercepted two Shehzor trucks and one Hino truck between October 3-4, 2023 carrying 3.4 tons of betel nuts in concealment. The seized goods are valued at Rs 3.5 million excluding the value of seized conveyances.
It is necessary to mention here that Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Karachi has expedited its crackdown against smuggling and has appealed to the public to cooperate with them and report any suspicious activities or movements of smuggled goods.
