Karachi Enforcement seizes smuggled goods worth Rs163m from Bolton Market

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement has recovered smuggled goods worth Rs163 million after raiding Karachi’s Bolton Market.

Sources said the anti-smuggling unit raided various warehouses in Chanti Lane, Mariott Road and Market Quarters. The action has been taken under the directions of Chief Collector Customs Yaqoob Mako and Collector Usman Bajwa.

During the raid, the team seized smuggled items worth more than Rs 160 m, which also included cigarettes, shisha flavors and gutka. An investigation has also been launched after taking the items into custody.

It is necessary to mention here that Chief Collector Yaqoob Mako directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggling. He directed that anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt as per law.
