Karachi Excise still unable to issue new tokens for vehicles

KARACHI:  The Department of Excise and Taxation, Government of Sindh, is still unable to launch new tokens for vehicles.

Customers who came for renewal of their old tokens are facing great hardship in this regard. It is to be mention here that the department announced in April to introduce new tokens in place of old ones, but now the department has started renewing the old tokens.

Excise and Taxation Department official Sajjad Soomro told this scribe that the department announced to replace the old tokens but due to some unavoidable circumstances the department is still not in a position to introduce new tokens. He further says that now new tokens will issued after Eidul Fitr.

A customer, Imran Qureshi, who came for renewal of his old token, complained that despite waiting for one hour, he was unable to get his token renewed. He said that the excise teams were checking tokens of vehicles on different roads of the city, so he came there for renewal  of his token, but was still facing problems in this regard.
