Karachi: Importers complain about slow work at containers terminal

KARACHI: Importers are facing great hardships on Pakistan International Containers Terminal because they have to spend lot of time for waiting to ground containers and then to visit the spot. One of importer Sajid Shah, while talking to Custom Today, complained that operators work slowly and their performance is very poor. He further said that due to this practice importers have to bear thousands of rupees loss daily, which is quite painful act for them.

He said that the importers had complained about their grievances but no positive response had been received from the high authorities.

He said there is always delaying tactics from the PICT which resulted in huge financial loss for us. He said there is no change in the situation, the situation is same as it was years before. He clarified that work on Containers Terminal gain some momentum for few weeks but it again witnessed downward trend.

He said that we will put our whole case with Federal Board of Revenue Chairman  Tariq Bajwa and will appeal him to interfere in this matter and do the needful to avoid daily financial loss which are being faced by importers, he concluded as saying.
