WASHINGTON: Over the first half of the season, Kazakhstan exported nearly 750 KMT of barley that was 100% more than during the same period last season and nearly 60% more than all barley exports in 2014/15 MY.

Stable demand from Iran provided shipments growth in this direction. During the reporting period, Iran imported 78% more barley from Kazakhstan than in all last season (714.8 KMT compared to 402 KMT in 2014/15 MY). The USA joined the Kazakh barley importers having bought 9.5 KMT in February, 2016. In season 2011/12 the USA imported 5.3 KMT of barley from Kazakhstan.
