WASHINGTON: In 2015/16 Kazakhstan exported 2157 KMT of flour, which was 27% higher than export shipments of last season, reports UkrAgroConsult. According to UkrAgroConsult, key importer of last season became Afghanistan, doubling purchases to 1174 KMT flour against 660 KMT in 2014/15 and accounting for 54% in the total flour export structure against 39% in 2014/15.

Uzbekistan also increased  purchases but not essentially (+4%). Exports lowered in the destination of Tajikistan and totaled about 104 KMT against 169 KMT in 2014/15. Prospective market is China, where about 7.9 KMT was shipped (1.2 KMT was exported in 2014/15). Considering higher wheat crop in 2016 we expect further growth of Kazakh flour export in 2016/17 and higher exports to China are just what is needed.
