ALMATY: Kazakhstan’s foreign trade surplus fell to $3.8 billion in January-April 2016 from $6.1 billion in the same period of 2015, the Statistics Committee said on Wednesday. The Central Asian nation has been hit by a drop in world prices for oil and metals, its main exports.
Italy and China were Kazakhstan’s largest export markets in the first quarter, accounting for 16.4 percent and 12.8 percent of revenue respectively. Russia provided 32.7 percent of all Kazakhstan’s imports in the period, followed by China with 14.0 percent.
