KCCI leadership expects more response to My Karachi expo this year

KARACHI: The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry(KCCI) has announced the formal launch of 15th My Karachi: Oais of Harmony, the international trade exhibition; to be held from April 20 to 22 at Expo Centre Karachi.

Around one million people are expected to visit this international expo during three days. Of 315 stalls, 74 will be international stalls, said Chairman, Businessmen Group in KCCI and former president KCCI Siraj Kassam Teli at a press conference at the chamber.

President of KCCI Muffasir Atta Malik, Senior Vice President Abdul Basit Haji Abdul Razzaq, Vice President Rehan Hanif, former presidents Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, Shamim Firpo, Abdullah Zaki and Iftikhar Ali Vohra, Chairman, My Karachi exhibition committee M.Idrees Memon were also present.

Siraj Kassam Teli said, this year the exhibition would be much better. Besides occupancy of total six halls of the expo centre, the open area would also be used because of expansion in My Karachi. Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, Thailand, Sri Lanka and China have confirmed their participation.

Indonesia and Thailand would set up their independent pavilions. More countries were expected to join. On the sidelines, there would be entertainment activities for the visiting families as well.

He said that the law and order situation in the country, especially in Karachi, had improved by ninety percent. Terrorists activities were controlled and the street crime in the city would also be curbed soon.

He paid tribute to Pakistan Army, Rangers, Police and other agencies linked to law and order for restoration of peace and security to life and property of the people mainly in Karachi, which is the economic hub of the country.

He requested the media to continue supporting My Karachi event as this aimed at promoting soft image of the country, besides, increasing trade and investment in the country.
