NAIROBI: The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has embarked on a hunt for top executives as the company gets ready to deploy its expansion strategy into the region.
Through public adverts placed in the country’s dailies, the state corporation advertised for five new positions all in top managerial levels of the companies.
The new positions include general managers for company secretariat and corporate affairs, HR and administration, strategy, infrastructure operations and maintenance.
According to Charles Tanui, KPC’s managing director, the new officials will be charged with steering the petroleum company’s growth ambitions into the rest of the East African region.
“We have several projects that are currently in play and we realised that we needed to bring in people on board who’s job it will be to spearhead this process on behalf of the company,” he explained.
Kenya Pipeline last year kicked off the construction of a new 20-inch multi-product oil pipeline from Mombasa to Nairobi with Lebaneese firm Zakhem International Construction Company Ltd winning the construction tender.
The project will further see construction of four new pump stations at Pump Station and two booster pumps at Kipevu.
