Khairpur Police recover Rs80m imported cloth stolen from hijacked trailer

KHAIRPUR: Khairpur Police have recovered imported cloth worth Rs80 million that was stolen from a trailer hijacked a few days ago on the Thari National Highway near Khairpur.

Police said the trailer, which was travelling from Karachi to Lahore, had been stopped by five suspects on the highway. The suspects allegedly took the vehicle, shifted the cloth to a warehouse in Sukkur and later abandoned the empty trailer in Shikarpur.

According to police, the recovery was made during a raid in the Golimar area of Sukkur with the help of modern technology. The trailer and the stolen cloth were seized from the warehouse.

An FIR regarding the missing trailer had earlier been registered at Bubarloi Police Station. Police said another FIR was being registered at Site Area Police Station in Sukkur district after the recovery.
