Khalid Javed become new PSRMA chairman

LAHORE: Khalid Javad, was elected chairman of Pakistan Steel Re-Rolling Mills Association while Dewan Abu Obaida Farooqui elected senior vice president, Mian Arif Mehmood vice chairman Lahore Circle, Akhtar Saeed vice chairman Karachi Circle for the year 2015-16.

The results of the newly elected office-bearers were announced at the annual general meeting of the Pakistan Steel Re-Rolling Mills Association held here at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Steel industry leaders and a large number of steel industry businessmen were present on the occasion.

The Executive Committee members elected for the year 2015-16 are Dewan Mian Muhammad Ashraf, Mian Ahmad Hassan, Asmat Pervaiz Malik and Javed Iqbal Mughal for Lahore Circle while Shahnawaz Ishtiaq, Ghulam Ali Bhatia, Kashif Ayub and M. Iqbal Jafarani for Karachi circle.

Earlier, Pakistan Steel Re-Rolling Mills Association newly elected Chairman Khalid Javed called for downward revision of electricity, gas tariff. He also invited the attention of towards shortage of electricity and gas that was badly hampering the production of steel re-rolling mills. He said that because of energy crisis, productions nose-dived.

He said that the government should also implement some fool proof strategy to stop power and gas pilferage as the power and gas theft are hitting the entire steel industry very badly and jacking up the graph of unemployment.
