Khuzdar Customs foils bid to smuggle goods worth Rs50.57 from Quetta to Karachi

KHUZDAR: Under the supervision of Collector Imran Bokhari, Collectorate of Customs foiled an attempt to smuggle huge quantity of betel nuts, black pepper, almonds, gutka and tyres from Quetta to Karachi. The market value of seized goods is Rs50.57 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Imran Bokhari received information that huge quantity of goods will be smuggled from Quetta to Karachi. Collector Imran Bokhari immediately directed all anti-smuggling squads to enhance vigilance and checking in the jurisdiction. The customs anti-smuggling squad along with local police intercepted two buses near Surab Check post. The buses were heading towards Karachi.

During detailed search of goods, Customs Enforcement team recovered huge quantity of betel nuts, black pepper, almonds, gutka and tyres.

Customs Enforcement team after registering a case of smuggling started investigations.

It is pertinent to mention here that September 19, 2023 Khuzdar Customs seized fine quality hashish worth Rs19.5 million, while on September 15, 2023 under the supervision of Collector Imran Bokhari, Collectorate of Customs anti-smuggling squad thwarted attempts to smuggle 118 Metric Tons of sugar which values 19.35 million rupees.

Collector Imran Bokhari has directed all anti-smuggling squads not to spare anyone who found involved in smuggling.
