KHUZDAR: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Khuzdar has seized huge quantity of smuggled betel nuts during on-going crackdown against smuggled goods.
According to details on October 7, 2024, the team signaled a Hino truck traveling from Quetta to Karachi to stop for inspection. Upon thorough examination, the customs staff discovered 2,460 kilograms of smuggled betel nuts concealed within wooden apple crates. The contraband goods and the vehicle were promptly seized.
In another incident on the same day, another Hino truck coming from Quetta was stopped and inspected. This search revealed 2,015 kilograms of smuggled betel nuts hidden under layers of local wood. The customs staff seized the contraband goods and the vehicle.
Both drivers were arrested, and two separate FIRs have been registered.
