PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has approved the feasibility for the construction of a rapid bus service under the Peshawar Mass Transit Corridor. It was presented to here at a meeting of the Board of Investment and Trade (BoIT).
The 26-kilometer long road would be constructed from Nasirpur to Hayatabad market.
The chief minister while expressing satisfaction over the feasibility said that he would soon meet the federal minister for railways so that the important project could be executed without delay, according to a handout.
He said that the mega project to be completed under the public private partnership with an estimated cost of Rs 14.5 billion would connect eastern and western ends of the Peshawar city.
Three local companies have already offered investment in the project.
However, it was decided that the project would be advertised for global investment on preparation of its PC-1 and formal approval of the board so that besides transparency and competition, large scale investment could be ensured.
