SYDNEY: Kia Sorento has recalled around 12, 361 units as there is a fault with the accelerator pedal. Cars made between October 27, 2014 and 29 January recalled from Kia.
Recall documents have been given to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association and the issue with the cars is said to be the fact that the circuit board hasn’t been soldered properly onto the circuit board. The car could go into Limp Home Mode or Forced Idle Mode. This means that the electronic stability control lights or the check engine lights could come on and there could be some lack of acceleration.
Kia will be replacing the accelerator pedals on any 2016 Kia Sorento that is involved in the recall. At the moment no accidents or injuries have been reported.
