SYDNEY: Kia has released the first official exterior images of the all-new Sportage, which will take its global bow at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The design of the fourth-generation Sportage appears far removed from the current model. The vehicle’s face is where the changes are most pronounced, with the headlights no longer integrated with the grille.

Instead, the headlights sweep back along the outer edges of the bonnet. The Sportage also features the latest version of the Korean brand’s “tiger-nose” grille.

Kia says the new model boasts longer front overhangs, shorter rear overhangs and longer wheelbase.

Around back, the tail-lights are joined by a strip that runs the width of the rear, while turn indicators and reversing lights are separated and relocated lower down.

The new Kia Sportage will be officially unveiled on 15 September in Germany.
