BUDAPEST: The Hungarian Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Andras Szabo, with a three-member Hungarian businessmen team, visited the Mayor of Kumasi Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi at his office on Monday, January 15, 2018, with the aim of exploring business opportunities and investing in various sectors of the economy to help promote rapid development of Kumasi. The visit was a follow up to an earlier meeting between the KMA boss and the Hungarian Ambassador in Accra when the Hungarian Embassy was officially reopened in December 2017, after 30 years of closure, during which H.E. Andras Szabo expressed his government’s readiness to collaborate with the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to build an investment drive partnership that would be beneficial to all.
In his address, H.E.Szabo said the team is looking at ways of identifying business avenues in Kumasi where they can develop, by investing in those areas. We are ready to form a solid partnership with Ghana, especially with the KMA and in view of this, Ghana-Hungry Business Council has been set up with the responsibility of exploring business opportunities in Ghana, so we are here to meet your working committee to get into the details of all the important areas. I hope we will have a good partnership that will be beneficial us,” he assured. Assibey Antwi in his welcoming address expressed his gratitude to the Hungarians for fulfilling their promise and the Assembly’s readiness to partner with them in the development of the city. KMA, in our preparedness to work with you, has put in place a working committee which is prepared with all the necessary details, so we have to sit down with your team, go through the details and look at the important and potential areas which can be beneficial to us all,” he said. The KMA Boss briefed them on the potential areas of the economy that need an urgent attention in developing the city.
