ISLAMABAD: Customs station Kohat collected revenue of Rs 318.84 million under head of All duty, taxes and surcharges during first half (July to December) of financial year (FY) 2016-17.
According to details, during the above said period Kohat Customs showed outstanding performance and contributed a handsome amount of all duty, taxes and surcharges to the revenue. The station collected revenue of Rs 40.49 million under head of Customs Duty (CD) as for as Rs 0.34 million under head of various duty surcharges.
Sources told Customs Today that during the above said period Kohat Customs collected revenue of Rs 3.96 million under head of Redemption Duty (RD) on imports whereas revenue of Rs 2.93 million was collected under head of Export Development Surcharge (EDS) adding that total Customs duty collected was Rs 53.46 million.
The Kohat Customs collected revenue of Rs 53.46 million in head of Sales tax during first half of current financial year 2016-17 as for as Rs 8.22 million in head of Sales tax on imports. Customs collected Rs 79.11 million under head of Additional Income Tax (AIT) as for as collected Rs 130.33 million under head of AIT Exports.
Sources said that Kohat Customs is the largest division of country having customs check-posts in settled areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA. In North Waziristan Agency, there are two border stations which are Ghulam Khan and Angorada whereas in Kurram Agency, Kharlachi, Burki and Teri Mangal Kohat Customs have three stations.
