Kohat Customs earns more revenue than yesteryear

PESHAWAR: The Model Customs Collectorate of Customs House Peshawar has received Rs29.002million from the Kohat State Ware House/KA during the first 24 days of August in FY2017-18 which has showed an improvement in the collection of Kohat Customs.

Deputy Collector Kohat Customs Fazle Shakoor has appreciated the performance of the Customs staff at the Kohat S.W.H/KA for generating more revenue than Rs27.002million of the previous year in the first 24 days of August.

He added that the Kohat Customs was able to frustrate several bids of smuggling in the current month of August in which a big seizure resulted in the confiscation of 736 kg of hashish and 9-MM pistols and stressed the need for making efforts to further increase the revenue collection.

He said the Anti-Smuggling Units have been tasked to impound the NDP vehicles and goods to add extra revenue to the national exchequer.

According to details, Kohat-S-W-H/KA generated Rs6.7889million of Customs Duty till 24th of August and collected Rs4.3393million as Sales Tax during the same period.

The sources said the Kohat Customs has received Rs17.204million of A.I.T in which Rs11.086million was generated by the A.I.T exports.

An amount of Rs0.356million RD was earned by the Kohat Customs during the same period of time from 1st of August till 24th of August in FY2017-18 and did duty of Rs0.382million to collect as EDS PAK, and an amount of Rs2.416million was collected as EDS (F.E) duty.
