SEOUL: The Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank, President Lee Duk-hoon) has had a first meeting with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
The AIIB is a proposed international financial institution that is focused on supporting infrastructure construction in the Asia-Pacific region. The bank will officially start operations at the end of this year.
Korea Eximbank President Lee Duk-hoon met with President-designate Jin Liqun of the AIIB at Hotel Shilla Seoul on Sept. 8, and discussed mutual cooperation plans between the two banks in depth.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to boost joint financial support and to actively cooperate in various sectors in the future, such as syndicate loan plans, the exchange of personnel and information, and environmental issues.
