SEOUL: On the arrival of Dr. Song Jong Hwan, Ambassador of Republic of Korea at GCCI, said that Korea and Pakistan are not only good friends but also the trade partners. Exports from Korea to Pakistan have been decreased by 63% from last years. In 2014, 6% decrease in Exports to Pakistan has been witnessed.
We have to increase the present exports in coming years. It is matter of serious concern when trade is increasing among the countries but it has decreased between Pakistan and Korea. There are two major reasons of declining trade i.e Absence of Free trade Agreement (FTA) and Lack of proper Understanding among the trade bodies of two countries. Many Korean companies could do business in this country and explore new opportunities.
Senior Vice President Muhammad Iqbal Shaheen, Vice President Abdul Rauf, Former Presidents Sheikh Muhammad Naseem, Ikhlaq Ahmed Butt, Rana Shahzad Hafeez, Nouman Salahudin and leading Industrialists and traders were also present at the Occasion.
He added Federal Minister for Commerce Engineer Khurram Dastgir visited South Korea in July-2015 and discussed bilateral trade and possibility of FTA. We hope that FTA between two friendly states will pave the way for increasing the trend in bilateral trade.
