KP CM for evolving broad strategy for recovery of revenues & taxes

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has ordered the Excise and Taxation Department to evolve an efficient and a comprehensive strategy for recovery of the revenues and taxes in the province.

He said this while presiding over a meeting at the KP House, Nathia Gali, on Saturday. Minister Excise Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel and Secretary Excise attended the meeting. The chief minister was briefed about different steps for tax recovery, facilitation of taxpayers and revenue collection mechanism.

Pervez Khattak directed to evolve a separate facilitation mechanism for the taxpayers. He also stressed for improving the existing tax net.

He said without an efficient taxation system, no government could give an appropriate response to the people’s expectations. Therefore we have reformed the system by giving an efficient system of revenue generation as it was a key to the process of facilitating the people and properly looking after the people’s welfare and their development.

The chief minister appreciated the performance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority and asked for bringing more dynamism to their performance.
