KP NAB arrests revenue official Javed Iqbal in corruption case

PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested accused Javed Iqbal, an official of Mardan Revenue Department, for accumulating assets worth millions of rupees in excess of his known sources of income.

According to details, the matter was brought into the notice of NAB authorities. Taking notice, an inquiry was authorised to ascertain the facts and collect requisite evidence regarding movable and immovable properties owned, controlled and possessed by the accused in his own name and in the name of his dependents.

During the course of the inquiry, it was revealed that the accused during his service in the Mardan Revenue Department bought a one-kanal and five marla bungalow in Bagh-e-Aram, Mardan, and a nine-marla house in Bagh-e-Aram, Mardan. Additionally, it was revealed that the accused made huge unexplained transactions in bank accounts.

The accused will be produced before the accountability court for obtaining his physical remand.
