KP NAB authorises inquiries against various departments

PESHAWAR: The regional board meeting (RBM) of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held here with Director General (DG) Farmanullah Khan in the chair.

The meeting was attended by Directors, Deputy Prosecutor General, Case Officers, and other concerned Investigation Officers. Several important decisions were taken in the regional board meeting.

The board authorized another inquiry against officials of FATA Disaster management Authority (FDMA) regarding corruption & corrupt practices. The subjects are alleged to have made illegal appointments and embezzled funds in gross violation of laws.

The board also authorized inquiry against officials of LG&RDD/TMA Town-III Peshawar regarding corruption & corrupt practices. The subjects are alleged to have violated building bylaws while construction of high-rise building in University Town, Peshawar.

The Regional Board also authorized inquiry against officials of Health & Education Departments (KP) regarding corruption & corrupt practices. The subjects are alleged to have embezzled millions of rupees allocated for installation of Biometric Machines in Education and Health Departments (KP).

The Regional Board authorized inquiry against officials of OGDCL Karak regarding corruption and misuse of authority. The subjects are alleged to have illegally awarded contract of “Gas Processing, LPG recovery Plant & Allied Facilities at Nashapa Oil Fields” at District Karak. The board authorized inquiry against the administration of Doctor’s Colony, Mardan regarding corruption and corrupt practices. The subjects are alleged to have cheated public in the garb of illegal housing scheme namely “Doctors’ Colony” Mardan. The board also authorized inquiry against officials of Health Department (KP) regarding corruption & corrupt practices.

The subjects are alleged to have purchased medicines from blue-eyed companies on exorbitant rates for distribution in KP hospitals. The board authorized an inquiry against officials of Health Department (KP) regarding corruption & misuse of authority. The subjects are alleged to have made illegal appointment of Doctors and Paramedics at FATA.

The DG NAB (KP) Farmanullah Khan has said that as per directives of the Chairman, NAB, Former Justice Javed Iqbal NAB KP is determined to do across the board accountability on the basis of solid evidence as per law. He further said that eradication of corruption is not only our social and moral obligations but it also ensures prosperous future of our coming generations.
