PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau Director General Saleem Shahzad Thursday handed over cheque of Rs 29.274 million to Additional Secretary Finance Muhammad Asalam Khattak.
Addressing the distribution ceremony, the KP NAB DG said that the amount was embezzled by officials of various departments. He said that policies devised under the guidance of NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has drawn worldwide acclamation. He said that National Anti Corruption Strategy has produced dramatic results in mobilizing each and every member of society against menace of corruption.
He said that NAB is following a policy of zero tolerance for corrupt and corruption. He said that NAB has recovered a record amount of Rs 279 billion from the corrupt that is a proof of our success and commitment.
