KP NAB recovered Rs 25 billion in 2014-15

PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa office recovered a huge amount of Rs 2500 million (Rs 25 billion) in corruption cases during fiscal year 2014-15.

According to the two years (2014-15) performance report issued by the KP bureau, the NAB arrested 425 corrupt elements for the last 14 years, 323 references registered and Rs 1,400 millions recovered out of Rs 10.58 millions of looted amount through plea bargaining (PB) and voluntarily return (VR).

On the other hand, NAB KP arrested 250 corrupt elements during 2014-15, 82 references registered and Rs 2500 millions recovered out of Rs 11.68 billion looted through PB and VR while the convicted ratio has been remained as 80 per cent during this period.

NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Choudhry who visited all the bureaus in order to assess the performances and he paid tribute to KP NAB Director General Shezad Salim and his entire team who are engaged with a strong devotion against corrupt mafia in province.
