PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government launched the Ehsaas Motorcycle Relief programme, allocating Rs3 billion to support an estimated 1.6 million motorcycle owners across the province.
The scheme promised each eligible recipient Rs2,200 in financial assistance, designed specifically to ease rising fuel costs for motorcycle-dependent households across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Despite the scale of the programme, official records show only 17,658 individuals have registered since the announcement, representing a fraction of the 1.6 million targeted beneficiaries.
Of those who registered, only 8,515 applicants have received formal approval for assistance, leaving the majority of registrants still awaiting a decision on their applications.
More than 5,000 approved beneficiaries have received payments so far, but disbursement figures remain far below expectations given the Rs3 billion budget already allocated for distribution.
