PESHAWAR: The non-duty paid vehicles which were seized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police handed over to Customs House Peshawar on Monday.
The sources told Customs Today that three vehicles were seized during routine checking which were loaded with foreign origin cloth for which the Police asked about documents for legal possession of the cloth.
The driver failed to produce any paper which can testify the claim for legal ownership of the cloth. Upon which the SHO at Police Station Pahar Pura impounded the cloth and handed over it to the Customs House Peshawar officials.
The Customs staff when reached informed that the non duty paid cloth was handed over to Customs officials but no vehicle has been given.
The sources other than Customs staff added that the Police has taken Rs 20,000 from each driver and did not registered the vehicles with Police nether has handed them over to Customs staff. The owner of NDP cloth selling lady Musarat who has reached the Customs House Peshawar to ask about the case of her seized cloth.
The Customs staff informed that often time when NDP goods had been impounded by departments other than Pakistan Customs issues rises and often they come in jurisprudence of Pakistan Customs.
