KPT remains operational with measures to deal corona virus

KARACHI: Karachi Port Trust (KPT) remained operational round the clock with best arrangments to deal with corona virus after it affected the different countries of the world.

According to the details, Karach Port Trust (KPT) handled 146708 metric tonnes of cargo in the last 24 hours with best arrangments done regarding the Corona Virus situation and measures to protest the employees from any kind of harm.

As per breakup the report shows that the port handled 109957 metric tonnes imports cargo while the exports handling remained at 36751 metric tonnes. KPT has handled 12871 metric tonnes clinker exports and 2840 metric tonnes of loose bulk cement exports as far as dry cargo handling of the port is concerned.

Besides this, port has also handled exports of 1500 metric tonnes liquid bulk cargo and 19540 metric tonnes of containerised cargo. Similarly, the imports of containerised cargo remained at 65345 metric tonnes and that of bulk cargo remained at 14777 metric tonnes. However, the liquid bulk cargo imports handling remained at 29835 metric tonnes
