NAIROBI: The Kenya Revenue Authority has opened a new iTax Support service centre in Nakuru town. The support centre at Generation Plaza has been hailed by people from different quarters who say it will improve service delivery.
Nakuru Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto while speaking during the opening of the centre on Wednesday said it will allow operations to be executed with no hitches.
“This innovation is timely and much needed in our county. Nakuru County is experiencing rapid growth. Businesses, individuals and the County Government of Nakuru need the iTax services for smooth operations. Thus we welcome the opening of this iTax support centre with arms wide open,” said the deputy governor.
Ruto clarified that the county government has a seamless tax and revenue collection system which will work well with the opening of the iTax centre. On her part, KRA Commissioner for Domestic Taxes Alice Owuor said the authority will forge modalities through which the county government will collect revenue on a maximum scale.
In addition, she stated that the centre has made it possible to access key services such as filing returns online, PIN registration among other things. “You can access iTax services from anywhere as long as you have internet connection. This has made it possible to give quality services,” she said.
Ruto appealed to Owour to set up another iTax support centre in Naivasha since Nakuru County is so big and that some residents would be constrained by time and distance to access it in Nakuru.
