KSE 100-index up 305.64 pts or 0.91% on foreign buying

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark 100-index gained 305.64 points or 0.91 percent to reach 33839.28 points and volume of 155,433,960 shares on Wednesday.

Earlier, trading session started on a positive note as the index added more than 300 points in first half hour. But later, investors’ preferred to liquidate their portfolios and book profit at high levels and repurchase latter at dips forcing stock to go down which later managed to gain 306 points till end of trading.

In midday trading, the KSE took a good start, recouping the overnight losses by gaining 356.44 points or 1.06 per cent to reach 33890 level.

On Tuesday, the stocks remained under pressure with the KSE-100 index taking a plunge of 189.89 points, or 0.56 per cent, to close at 33,533.64. Political uncertainty was thought to have led the market nervousness.

The High and Low of today KSE trading were 33925.90 and 33533.64 respectively with the total volume traded in the market of 155,433,960.
