“Out of the total inspection, 39 premises were found to have the contraband goods.

“We have arrest 35 individuals, and out of that number, 24 were compounded, four on bail and seven workers from Myanmar handed over to the Immigration Department for further action,” he said in a statement here today.

He said during that period, Kuala Lumpur Customs recorded a compound collection totalling RM85,850.

Abdul Ghani said for May and June this year, customs raided three premises in the Klang Valley at Bandar Sunway and USJ with goods seized totalling RM199,276 and RM15,955 respectively, while 6,256 litres of beer were seized from a store in Balakong valued at RM82,968, involving tax evasion of RM105,376.

In another development, he said a modified diesel oil tanker was detained at the Sungai Buloh rest stop (R&R) while it was transporting 3,240 litres of beer valued at RM35,587.68.

“The driver has been detained and charged in the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court,” he said.
