KUWAIT CITY: Kuwaiti authorities have seized illicit 256 kilograms of frozen meat that was imported from Australia from the Capital Slaughterhouse, as it was found was infected with virus and was not fully drained of blood, Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality revealed in a press statement here the other day.
A team from Kuwait Municipality inspected several slaughtered animals to discover that they were infected with virus and still contained blood which was not drained off after the animals were slaughtered. The meat was confiscated as it was deemed unsuitable for human consumption. The department declared that the public must call the hotline 139 to report any complaints.
