KUWAIT CITY: An Asian expatriate was nabbed on Amman Street for smuggling in local alcohol. Patrolmen on duty came across the suspect while he was standing near a car parked in an open ground. They pursued and arrested him when he tried to run away on foot at the sight of the police. The officers recovered 100 bottles of alcohol from the car.
Meanwhile the Capital governorate police have arrested four Asians from a building under construction and seized from them 109 bottles of locally-manufactured booze, officials said. The security sources said the arrest came following a tip-off from unidentified persons that some men were selling booze near a building under construction in a suburb of Ahmed Al-Jaber.
Sources added one of them is believed to be the guard of the building. The contraband and the suspects have been handed over to the General Department for Drugs and Alcohol Control
