KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait customs arrested an unidentified female Ethiopian passenger coming from Addis Ababa has been arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for allegedly attempting to smuggle into the country five kilos of qat, an evergreen shrub of Arabia and Africa, the leaves of which are used as a narcotic when chewed or made into a beverage, reports Annahar daily.
According to customs the suspect was in transit at an unidentified GCC airport before arriving in Kuwait. The qat was reportedly hidden in her baggage along with formula milk.
