KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait Customs officials at the Shuwaikh Port busted a major drug shipment worth millions of dinars before it could be smuggled into the country here the other day.
The drugs were hidden inside a barbed-wire shipment that was monitored until it reached Kuwait from Lebanon, said Khalid Al- Saif, the Acting General Director of the Customs General Department. A total of 2.3 million Captagon tablets worth around KD 5 million were found.
Customs officials also arrested a Syrian man who came to collect the shipment. The man admitted during questioning at the Criminal Investigations Department that he imported the drugs for trafficking.
