Kuwait security officials seize 420 liquor bottles, clutch Asian smuggler

KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait security officials seized illicit 420 bottles of liquor and nabbed an Asian expatriate for brewing liquor in Abdullah Port area here the other day.

According to security sources, when Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Ali Al-Mari received information about an Asian expatriate involved in running an illegal business of brewing and selling liquor in Abdullah Port area, he formed a team for conducting investigations.

After obtaining a warrant from the Public Prosecution, Ahmadi securitymen raided the illegal factory and arrested the suspect. They confiscated 420 bottles of liquor, a number of barrels and equipments used for brewing liquor. The suspect was referred with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him. Meanwhile, customs officers at Nuwaiseeb border checkpoint arrested a Kuwaiti citizen in possession of a liquor bottle after he arrived from a GCC country
