KUWAIT: With $188 billion of projects currently under various stages of planning and construction, Kuwait’s construction sector is poised for significant growth. The demand for high-quality infrastructure along with upscale residential and commercial properties can be seen in several multi-billion dollar projects including:

* $6.2 billion motorway construction

Ashley Roberts, Event Director of The Big 5 Kuwait, said: “Kuwait has earmarked $7.2 billion from its annual budget for 2015-2016 for the construction sector and accelerated the sector’s growth. To leverage the fresh momentum experienced by the Kuwaiti market, our event will highlight state-of-the-art solutions and products for the construction sector. Following two successful editions, we are upbeat that the 2015 event will generate positive results for exhibitors and visitors alike.” The third edition of The Big 5 Kuwait will be held from 14 – 16 September 2015 at the Kuwait International Fair. One new feature is the addition of a hall dedicated to Building Interiors products.

The move is in response to the 2014 Visitor Survey, where 41% of visitors in 2014 requested to see more interiors products. Building Interiors products command a high demand in Kuwait with the combined value of retail, interior and fit-out market standing at $31 million.

The new hall will be an exclusive showcase of products from the segments such as bathroom accessories, ceilings partitions, ceramics and porcelain, flooring, sanitary ware, showers, fitted furniture, sinks, bathtubs, and wall coverings. A second new feature is the over 20 free to attend Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accredited workshops. They will be highly educational for architects, interior designers, consultants, procurement managers, contractors, real estate developers, engineers, and government sector personnel who can register the points with their professional association or use it as certificate of attendance.

76% of visitors who attended a workshop in 2014 rated the sessions as either ‘excellent’ or ‘good.’ The Big 5 Kuwait 2015 will provide an ideal venue for regional and international manufacturers and distributors of related goods and services to showcase their products to the now proven lucrative Kuwaiti market. At the same time, offering local buyers easy access to these new and innovative products. The Big 5 Kuwait is the largest building and construction event in Kuwait, attracting visitors from Kuwait, Saudi, Bahrain and UAE.

The Big 5 Kuwait addresses the needs of the country’s burgeoning construction sector. In 2014, it attracted over 5,000 industry professionals, including architects, engineers, interior designers, contractors and developers looking to source products to service building and infrastructure projects during the exhibition’s three-day run. The Big 5 Kuwait complements the growing momentum in the Kuwaiti construction sector by offering new concepts and solutions in building technology.
