Lahore ASO seizes smuggled goods worth Rs1.03b in FY 2024-25 operations

LAHORE: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) squads conducted multiple intelligence-based operations (IBOs) during the financial year2024-25. These operations involved raids on godowns and the interception of vehicles on roads carrying significant quantities of smuggled contraband/notified goods.

As a result of these actions, the ASO squads during the financial year 2024-25 successfully seized 38 smuggled vehicles i.e Lexus, Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Land Cruiser V8, Toyota Vitz Cars, Toyota Prius Cars, Suzuki Swift Cars, Suzuki KEI Car valuing Rs337.85 million.

Smuggled fabric (29586-kilograms) valuing Rs104.15 million, smuggled cigarettes valuing Rs.151.42 million, smuggled betel nut (50021-kgs) valuing Rs136.45 million, smuggled good items (62100-kgs) valuing Rs37.77 million, smuggled tyres (802-nos) valuing Rs15.57, smuggled electronic goods valuing Rs45.23 million and other miscellaneous goods.

The cumulative value of the seized items is Rs1026.64 million. The Collector Enforcement appreciated the ASO teams on showing dedication and unflinching resolve against the illegal spectrum and activities in the region.
