LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) in a proactive operation led by Ali Akbar Zaidi, Additional Collector, and Mr. Ali Asad, Deputy Collector of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), approximately 700 bags of Iranian-origin skimmed milk, 28 bags of shopping bags, and fresh apples were seized near Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Lahore.
Sources told Customs Today that the operation, carried out based on information provided by Mateen Alam, Collector Customs, resulted in the recovery of goods valued at Rs22 million.
The raiding team, comprised of dedicated officers including Mr. Haamid Babur, Mr. Shahnawaz Langrial, and Asghar Poraywal, Inspectors Customs, Lahore, demonstrated unwavering commitment and efficiency in executing the operation. This successful interception underscores the Customs authorities’ relentless efforts to curb smuggling activities and uphold the integrity of trade regulations.
Such vigilant actions by the Customs officials not only safeguard the national economy but also protect consumers from potentially hazardous or substandard goods. The seized items will undergo further investigation, and necessary legal actions will be taken against those involved in this illicit trade activity.
