Lahore Customs, FIA seize smuggled BOPP lamination sheet worth Rs 10 million

LAHORE: The Customs Directorate of Investigation and Intelligence and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in a joint operation successfully seized smuggled lamination sheet worth Rs 10 million involving duty and taxes above Rs 6 million, sources told Customs Today.

The sources further revealed that both the agencies seized BOPP lamination sheet from a godown situated in Urdu Bazaar Lahore.

The sources said that the consignment was seized on February 27; however, no FIR was registered in this regard by the Customs Intelligence, and only seizure was registered. The sources added that the sheet was seized from the godown of Zeeshan Butt and Suleman Butt in the market. On the other hand, Customs Intelligence authorities concerned confirmed to Customs Today that the FIR has not been lodged.

They added that the seizure had been forwarded to the Customs Adjudication and further action would be taken in accordance with the instructions of the Collectorate of Adjudication.
