Lahore: Customs Intelligence impounds smuggled tyres worth Rs 25 million

LAHORE: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore has impounded  tyres of worth Rs 25 million, Iranian juices, aluminum scrap and air conditioners, sources told Customs Today here.

According to details, on the instructions of Customs Investigation and Intelligence, Additional Director Mohsin Rafique under the supervision of Customs Superintendent Nasir Minhas and Munawar Khan of Anti-Smuggling team of the directorate raided a godown of Farid Tyre House at the Railways Station.

The Customs I&I also seized illegally imported used mobile oil, aluminum scrap, auto parts, and air-conditioners worth Rs 6.8 million.

The Customs I&I seized two trucks loaded with 237 drums and 170 cartons of Iranian juices while they were being transported to the local market in Misri Shah.

The sources said that total value of the smuggled juices and oil was determined at Rs 11 million.

Meanwhile in another raid the ASO Customs I&I seized three trucks loaded with aluminum scrap worth Rs 3.6 million, the sources said adding that, the scrap was being attempted to dump in the local market of Lahore.

In yet another operation the anti-smuggling team of the directorate seized tyres, split ACs and computer accessories worth Rs 3.5 million, the sources informed.
