Lahore Customs team to visit Karachi to pursue pending cases

KARACHI: An investigative team of the Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore has planned to visit regional office in Karachi to pursue important cases.

Sources in FBR informed Customs Today that a team headed by Intelligence Officer Yousuf Yaar Khan has to visit Karachi on Monday night to review some high profile cases which are in pending due to delay by authorities of Directorate of Customs I&I Karachi.

Sources further revealed that the said team on the special directives of Director General (DG) Customs I&I Lutfullah Virk will visit Karachi in order to finalize the pending cases.

“The Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and investigation has clear instructions to accompany two intelligence officers from the regional office with the team,” they added.

It is important to mention here that the Director General, Customs I&I Lutfullah Virk has directed the regional officers to show their performance in order to unearth the pending cases of tax evasion and smuggling.
